Stephanie graduated from Leicester University in July 1989, with a
BA Honours Degree in Classical Studies (Ancient History). After
working in London, she moved to Sheffield and commenced a Post
Graduate Diploma in Law at Huddersfield University, passing the
Common Professional Examination in July 1992. She then went on to
take her Law Society Finals at De Montfort University in Leicester
in 1993.
Stephanie commenced her training contract at the Sheffield office
of Oxley and Coward, which subsequently merged with Wansbroughs
Willey Hargrave Solicitors, in September 1993. During her training
she worked in the Company Commercial, Employment and Health
Departments. She qualified as a solicitor in December 1995;
specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence
litigation.
Stephanie joined Atherton Godfrey’s Litigation Department in
January 2000 and became an associate in January 2003. She has
experience of dealing with a variety of claims arising from: road
traffic accidents; accidents at work; slips and trips and clinical
negligence. She belongs to both the Sheffield Medico-Legal Society
and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers where she has
accredited status as a Senior Litigator.
Stephanie has also taught law at Sheffield Hallam University, as
an associate lecturer, on the Torts, Business Law and Law Clinic
modules.
Stephanie is particularly interested in training and in human
resources.
