Doncaster law firm Atherton Godfrey are backing one of the bravest and most astonishing challenges ever attempted as James Wood attempts to swim the Channel in September. What makes this attempt so special is that James (the Vice Chair of the Spinal Injury Association) is paralysed from the lower part of his chest down, with absolutely no movement in his legs.
James became paraplegic at the age of 19 following a road traffic accident in 1990. His feat of physical and mental endurance will raise awareness for those individuals that have suffered spinal injuries. James will be joining 100 other people hoping to successfully swim the Channel (none of whom have spinal injuries) and his swim is expected to take approximately 15 hours.
As providers of legal support to individuals that have suffered as a result of personal injury, Atherton Godfrey are completely behind James and will be pledging £25 for every successful personal injury compensation claim they make during July and August this year.
Atherton Godfrey join other sponsors, including England Football Legend Gary Linekar and his wife Danielle in offering their support to this incredible feat. To find out more about this challenge simply visit - http://www.spinal.co.uk/page/james-wood-channel-swim
