The Superkids awards are now in their fourth year and are to honour children within the community who have been nominated for their outstanding contributions in areas such as volunteering, sporting achievements and courageous efforts.
Atherton Godfrey were delighted to support the event once again and presented the award to the winner of the Special Achievement category.
This year, the award went to 16-year old Jessica Carr, a student at Balby Carr Sports and Science College.
An accomplished fund-raiser, Jessica also has a string of achievements to her name, including: Year 11 Graduation Speaker ‘Valor Dictorian’, Governor Award for excellent Citizenship, Graduate Diploma – Distinction with Honours, Year 11 Future Ambassador and a student representative on the Executive Committee.
Jessica was nominated by a teacher at her school who said: “Jessica is a true inspiration and we are very proud of her.”
Diane Parker, partner and head of personal injury, and Stephanie Veysey, also a partner with the firm, went along to present the award.
Diane said: “It was a pleasure to meet Jessica; she is a delightful young woman and a real credit to her school and herself. I am sure she has a very successful career ahead of her.”
Stephanie added: “These awards are a lovely way for local businesses to recognise the effort and achievements of our younger generation.”
