Shabana recovered compensation for a self-employed plasterer who was injured when he fell from scaffolding while working at a university in Stoke. The client toppled over a knee-high guardrail as he stepped backwards on the wooden platform. He fell around 5ft, landing on a bare concrete floor.
The client was taken to the local Accident and Emergency department, where he had x-rays and was diagnosed with crushed muscles in his lower back.
He was in a lot of pain but returned to work after 8 weeks for financial reasons. However, recurring pain meant he had to take a further period off work. He is now fearful of heights which is restricting the kind of work he can carry out, impacting on his income.
