Going coast to coast to make dreams come true

A team of cyclists from Atherton Godfrey Solicitors are hoping to make dreams come true with a virtual coast to coast bike ride.

The team of 23 will take turns on two bikes to clock up a total of 140 miles, the equivalent of cycling from Whitehaven to Sunderland, in an effort to raise £300 for the Eve Merton Dreams Trust (EMT).

EMT is a not-for-profit charity that was set up by Doncaster people for Doncaster people, and aims to help make dreams come true for children or adults who are seriously or terminally ill with cancer.

Dreams that have already come true include a much needed family break, a trip to the west end and flying a helicopter over the sights of New York!

Maria Dallas, chair of the law firm’s charity committee, said: “Such special memories are created by helping people to live their dreams.

All the money we raise from the cycling will go towards creating a dream or granting a wish for someone that is seriously ill, giving them and their family memories to treasure.”

Come rain or shine the team will cycle the 140 miles between 9am and 4pm on Thursday 19 October in the car park behind their offices on Hall Gate.
