Leading Doncaster solicitor elected to top legal role

A leading Doncaster solicitor has been elected to take on the role of secretary for a national not-for-profit campaing group for injured people.

John McQuater, partner and head of litigation at Atherton Godfrey, who specialises in personal injury and medical negligence claims, will help to lead the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers' (APIL) almost 3,800 strong membership.

"I am looking forward to continuing my work with APIL in this new role," he said. "As past president for the association I feel strongly about the campaigns we are involved in. I will be working closely with APIL to support the executive committee reach its goals."

John, who was APIL president between 2009 and 2010, has more than 30 years' experience acting on behalf of injured people and is recognised nationally for his skills and expertise.

The association is dedicated to improving the law for people who have been made ill or been injured through no fault of their own, and helping them recieve the justice they need to put their lives back on track.
