Pensions auto-enrolment has begun

This means they will need to:

Automatically enrol certain eligible workers into a pension scheme
Make contributions on their workers behalf
Register with the Pensions Regulator
Provide workers with certain information about the changes and how they will affect them

Employers will be gradually introduced to auto-enrolment over the next four years and introduction dates will be based on the size of the business.

Sarah Naylor, associate at Atherton Godfrey, said: "It is really important that employers are fully aware of their obligations. I would urge them to take action now and make sure that they speak to their bank or accountant."

Visit www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk to find out more information on auto-enrolment staging dates.
