Laura Armstrong, clinched the Sidney Herbert Clay award for being the most sucessful student on the Legal Practice Diploma course and then going on to work within a 20 mile radius of Sheffield.
Laura, who is currently working in the firm’s Personal Injury Team as part of her two-year training contract, said: “The award has gone to trainees at the Sheffield offices of global law firm, DLA Piper for the last seven years in a row, so it’s great that it goes to a different firm this year.”
Diane Parker, partner and head of personal injury with the firm, said: “It’s always so exciting to see new legal talent emerging and I’m sure Laura has a very successful career ahead of her; she has already brought her first case to a successful conculsion.”
The award also includes £250 from the legacy left to the Sheffield Law Society by Sidney Herbert Clay. Sidney was a solicitor with offices in Worksop, Retford and Sheffield and was President of the Sheffield Law Society in 1937.
