Revenge porn is now a criminal offence

Instances of this sort of offence occur increasingly frequently when a relationship breaks down.  Sometimes during a relationship, or even after separation, there can be allegations of domestic abuse which are not always limited to physical abuse but can include intimidation, harassment or pestering.
Those carrying out the offence of ‘revenge porn’ can be charged with harassment. If the perpetrator is pursuing a course of conduct which amounts to harassment, not only could they be charged with criminal offences, there may be scope to pursue an injunction through the family courts.
Legal Aid remains available in respect of matters concerning domestic abuse.
