Today you will know Atherton Godfrey as the largest law firm in Doncaster employing over 100 staff and specialising in a wide range of law subjects.
You will probably also know that the practice has enjoyed a rapid expansion over the years and has long since outgrown the offices on Hall Gate; so much so that earlier this year we had to move our Commercial Department to new offices on South Parade.
But back in 1986 when Beverley joined us as a recent graduate, things were very different. The focus of the firm's work then was mainly matrimonial and criminal cases, with the odd neighbour dispute here and there. Beverley had only 14 colleagues!
The original office occupied a small part of 8 Hall Gate, but as more staff joined the firm, the offices quickly spread into the adjoining building, to the upper floors and then into the buildings behind!
Beverley's career with the firm progressed just as quickly as the firm itself and she qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1990.
After a short spell of working in Family Law, Beverley joined the fledgling Personal Injury Department and qualified as a solicitor in 2008.
Today, Beverley is a senior member of our Personal Injury Department and has line management responsibility for other members of the team. The main focus of her work is accident and injury claims including road traffic accidents and accidents at work.
She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers with accredited status as a Senior Litigator and has recently recovered:
£16,000 compensation for a client who suffered back and neck injuries in a road traffic accident
£12,000 compensation for a client who suffered a back injury after a slip
