Legal 500 recognition for Atherton Godfrey

We are delighted to announce that Atherton Godfrey Solicitors has been ranked in the Legal 500, receiving recommendations for both clinical negligence and personal injury.

The Legal 500 is a series of guides which lists the finest legal experts around the world, ranked according to their expertise, knowledge and experience.

The recommendations are based on extensive research that includes the opinions of counsel, client’s and peers along with a thorough assessment and benchmarking of work that the firm has been involved in.  Researchers particularly look for evidence of a well-established reputation for handling complex cases and a very strong technical ability.

Speaking to the researchers, one referee said they felt that the firm had: “top quality specialist clinical negligence practitioners with great expertise and great people skills”.

Whilst another stated: “They all have attention to detail, care for their clients and fight hard for them”.

In addition to the team rankings, John McQuater, partner and head of litigation has also been individually recognised for his expertise and enters the ‘Hall of Fame’,

Legal 500 researchers noted: “The firm has been increasingly active in complex, high value cases with recent highlights touching on cerebral palsy, spinal injury and amputation cases.

Notably, the firm has an established reputation for handling child brain injury cases and holds a legal aid franchise for such claims”.

Recent personal injury cases have included high value criminal injuries compensation claims, holiday injuries and employers’ liability compensation claims, where clients have suffered life changing injuries at work.

John McQuater, who delivers training for personal injury lawyers throughout the UK, commented:

“The recommendations are important for a number of reasons. They help counsel and clients to identify firms with the specialist skills and expertise needed to progress their particular case. Also, benchmarking firms sets standards for other law firms to strive to achieve, which helps to improve the overall experience for the client.  I would like to add a sincere thank you to the clients, counsel and other professionals for their kind feedback which has helped to secure the recommendations.”
