Doncaster solicitors in line for prestigious award

Atherton Godfrey Solicitors has been nominated for a top legal award in recognition of their high quality training programme.

The Training and Recruitment Awards have been celebrating the best law firms since 2004 and Atherton Godfrey has regularly been nominated in at least one category each year.

This year nominated in the Best Trainer – Small Firm category, Atherton Godfrey is once again the only Doncaster-based firm to be nominated in the awards, which recognise the professions top recruiters and trainers from the 10,500 law firms in the UK.

Diane Parker, partner and training principal, commented: “I am very proud of the robust training programme that we offer our trainees.

“The legal sector is a tough career option which makes it crucial that we select the right people at the outset. Therefore, we have a rigorous recruitment and selection process in place and this enables us to identify the best candidates for the roles.

“As a full-service firm, we are then able to present trainees with quite a unique opportunity that gives them a wide knowledge base and an excellent understanding of how the law is applied across different areas.
“Evidence that this approach works well is that we are able to offer all our trainees a permanent role upon qualification.”, comment: “Each year, the winners are chosen after an extensive survey of trainee and newly qualified solicitors. Respondents are asked to give an honest assessment of their own experience of the training and recruitment process and their training principal.

“With enriching training and fair recruitment at the heart of what they do, these leading firms provide opportunities to shine, whether in the City or a regional hub”.

Atherton Godfrey in line for top legal award

We are very pleased to say that our firm has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Atherton Godfrey is nominated in the Best Recruiter  – Small Firm category of the LawCareers.Net Training and Recruitment Awards.

Now in their 15th year, the awards aim to recognise the best recruiters and trainers in law firms throughout the UK.

Competition is fierce as more than 2,000 trainees and newly qualified solicitors vote for the winners using their experience of the training and recruitment process.

Atherton Godfrey will now join representatives from more than 60 of the country’s top law firms as they head to London on 17 May, where the winners of the coveted awards will be announced.

Diane Parker, training principal at Atherton Godfrey, said: “We are thrilled to be nominated again this year. These awards are particularly important to us because the nominations come from the trainees themselves.

Our aim is to provide an enriching training programme so that our aspiring lawyers can make informed decisions about their career path and go on to reach their full potential; the nomination is evidence that we are getting the process right. ”

We are definitely hoping for a repeat of our 2013 success when we brought the Best Recruiter Award back to Doncaster!
